    Hi all.
Today I have noticed some details missing when I go into add/remove programs. Under Date Modified and Type for each program it is now blank. Anyone else with the same issue ? and can it be fixed ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi!

If you are talking about the build in apps that have no uninstall option. Then take a look here:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/224798/how...-10s-built-in-apps-and-how-to-reinstall-them/

If your talking about a different program, add/remove feature in control panel.

Not sure why you would eliminate/change the security settings to remove a program unless it is a normal user without add/remove privileges.

That's the least of your problems, you actually are seeing a completely wrong set of headings! What you should see are Name, Publisher, Installed on, Size and Version.

This page is produced by explorer.exe with a custom view appropriate to this particular page. Somehow it is using the headings more appropriate to viewing a normal folder (Date modified and Type have no meaning here). As a first step, try restarting windows to see if that cures it.

I use Small Icons and can go to a blank area on the extreme right end of the bar that has Organize on it to use the right-click and get a menu of things that can be seen on that bar.

Actually, a right-click on any of the headings, like Name, will offer that list. But it's using the wrong list, it should have a custom one specific to this page - the OP is unlikely to find 'Installed' or 'Publisher' available to tick. It will likely be the standard list for a general type folder.

A restart is needed to see if Explorer can pick up the correct list next time.

  7. Thanks for the help, sadly a restart has not changed anything.

It may be the user profile is corrupt. Do you have any other accounts you could log in with? If not, try creating a new local account for test purposes.

If that looks the same, then the next step is to open a Command prompt (Admin) and type:

    sfc /scannow

Run SFC Command in Windows 10

  9. I will try by creating a local account. I don't understand any wording of Run SFC in the link you supplied. I'm not that intelligent to do all that *Sad

SFC is the System File Check, and /SCANNOW just tells it to scan for any corrupt system files and repair them if it can.

There are further steps that could be tried if that fails to repair this, up to and including an in-place repair upgrade. But unless you have other symptoms it may be best to leave it alone it for a while and see if anything else is misbehaving.

The Control Panel is not the only place you can manage the installed programs and see their date/size/publisher. It's also found in the Settings app under 'Apps and features'. This is likely to be showing the correct information even if the Control Panel's 'Programs and Features' doesn't.

If you can live with that for now, it will probably be repaired when the Fall Creators Update gets installed (or the Creators Update, if you haven't yet received that).

  11. Thanks, I have downloaded the media creation tool for now and will try that tomorrow afternoon.

I did try the recommended SFC/scannow prompt, but it showed no problems.

You just Right click on the Column Titles and tick appropriately. The first 4 after 'name' are usually ticked, but some big Windows 10 updates seems to untick/tick some of those.
    More... gives more column options.

It has happened several times quite recently after update Tuesdays.
No need to re-install. Another of those irritating little Windows 10 bugs.

Many thanks Helmut. That's done the trick, I will hold out for the fall CU rather than re-instal now.
