Windows 10: Adding 2 values to the registry?

Hi,


Is it possible to use a multi string value in "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion" for the program files folder?


For example:


ProgramFilesDir:


C:\Program Files

D:\Program Files

:)

Perform System restore.

I suggest you to perform system restore and select a date prior to the changes which was done with the registry values and check if the issue gets fixed.

To perform System restore:

• Press Windows key + X, select
  System.
• In the left pane, click on System Protection.
• Select the option to system restore
  > next. It will show all restore points already created.
• Select the date prior to the date on which you have made the registry changes.

invalid value for registry

Thank you for posting your response. We appreciate the time and effort that you have invested in to fix the issue.

I would suggest that you perform the methods mentioned below and check if you can resolve the issue:

Method 1: System Maintenance.

• Type “Control Panel” on the search box.
• Click on Troubleshooting.
• Click on View all option on the left side of the Windows.
• Click on System Maintenance option.
• Click on Next and follow the onscreen instructions to troubleshoot the issue.

Method 2:

Step1: Safe Mode

I would suggest that you log into Safe Mode ad check if the same issue persist in this mode. Follow the steps below to log into Safe Mode

• To log in safe mode, run command (press windows logo button+R) and type “msconfig”
• A pop-up window will open and click on boot tap and select safe mode with minimal as option

Note: To return to normal desktop mode, follow the same procedure and uncheck Safe.

If the same error does not occur, follow the step below.

Step 2: Clean Boot

Note: Once you are done with the troubleshooting, perform the steps in

to reset computer as usual.

Method 3:

I would suggest that you perform Automatic Repair through Media Creation Tool and check if the issue still persist:

Once you have the installation media, follow the steps:

a. Insert the installation USB/DVD media and boot Windows 10

b. In the ‘Windows setup’ page select the ‘language to install’, ‘Time and currency format’ and the ‘keyboard or input method’ and click on ‘next’.

c. Click on ‘Repair your computer’ and select ‘Troubleshoot’.

d. Select ‘Automatic Repair’ and select the operating system.

e. You will then see a blue screen and an option to choose. Choose the option Troubleshoot and select advanced options.

f. You may choose Automatic Repair from Advanced boot option.

g. Follow the instructions.
