  1. Adding 2nd laptop to home network failed

Now that HOMEGROUP has all but gone away how do I had a 3rd computer to my home network?

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4091368/windows-10-homegroup-removed

I haven't done this in several years and the old methods don't seem to apply.

For example, I thought all I had to do was connect to my Wi-Fi and I could start sharing files. But the folder for the recently added laptop does not show any files... even though the folder name (i.e. that laptop name) is displayed.

Any tips would be much appreciated.

Here are my 'Change advanced sharing settings" at the Network and Sharing Center in the Control Panel.

  3. Laptop won't show list of available networks

We suggest checking the list of available Wi-Fi networks on your laptop.

    Please follow these steps:

    • Click the Windows logo.
    • Go to Settings (gear icon).
    • Select Network and Internet.
    • Then Wi-Fi.
    • Make sure the Wi-Fi radio button is On.
    • Select Show available networks, then you'll be able to see the list of available Wi-Fi networks.

Update us with the outcome so we provide further assistance.

  4. Adding 2nd laptop to home network failed

    WiFi ad hoc problem

I'm creating an ad hoc network to connect my desktop (running Windows 7) with a friend laptop (running XP). So I set the network and in the wireless networks list of the laptop it appear with signal strength "Excellent" but once it connect to the network the signal strength drops to "Very Low". Any ideas where the problem may be? Thank you in advance.
