Administrator permission issues on window 10

Hello, I recently bought my laptop off of a dad whose child used it orginally and I cannot perform administrator actions. There is only one account on the laptop and it appears to have administrator permissions when I go on control panel-change account type. On there, it actually says there's two accounts, my account and "Administrator", but both have administrator permissions. I have tried using this

    1. Open File Explorer (press Windows logo + E), navigate to This PC > Local Disk (CAdministrator permission issues on window 10 :) > Users >Select

    your User profile.

    2. Right click on your User profile and select Properties.

    3. Click the Security tab, under Group or user names menu, select your user name and click on Edit.

    4. Click on Full control check box under Permissions for authenticated users and click on Apply and OK.

    5. Select Advanced under Security tab.

    6. Select your User profile under Permission entries and check on Edit, customize the permissions level and

    click OK.

    7. Check the option Replace all child object permissions entries with inheritable permission entries from

    this object.

    8. Click on Apply and OK to save changes and check if the issue is resolved.

But it already said I had full control on my user account. However, I still get the exact same message one would get if they weren't an administrator, saying "You need permission to perform this action". I am entirely at a loss, I have tried:

    1. Hold the Windows Key while pressing “R” to bring up the Windows Run dialog box.
    2. Type: net user administrator /active:yes
    3. Press “Enter“.

but this also does not work for me, I did this on command prompt and it said the action was done successfully but I still cannot do administrator actions. I don't have a password on my laptop as it's in my house and I only use it for games, but this is very frustrating because it seems like I've followed all the steps correctly and there's been no result. I can't help but think that maybe the laptop was set up for a child originally, but it doesn't make sense to me that it would appear as though I had administrator power anyway.

    :)

    no administrator permission

    Hi Ryan,

Let us assist you to have an Administrator permission. To start, follow the steps below to enable the Windows Super Administrator Account.

    • Type CMD on the search box.
    • CMD will appear at top.
    • Right click on it, then choose Run as administrator.
    • Type this command & hit Enter: Net user administrator /active:yes.
    • After you enable the Super Administrator account, log out on your existing account then log into Super Administrator account.
    • On the Super Administrator account, you can now create an Administrator account or give Administrator permission on the existing account.

After you created an Administrator account, we suggest that you disable the Super Administrator account by following the same steps and using this command:
    Net user administrator /active:no.

Let us know how it goes.

    Windows 10 permissions...

Ok so I feel officially dumb I am trying to copy my steam library to my NAS. Both are on windows 10 pro and both have full control in the file manager. Neither windows nor fast copy will allow me to copy, both list a permissions error? This was never an issue with windows 7...so first off thank you microsoft god forbid I want to back up my data, second off what the heck do I need to do to make this work. All I could fine online was to set full control and that obviously didn't help.

Also robocopy doesn't apparently work with network locations?

    Windows 10 Permissions Issues

Hooray!!!! Thanks so much, you are a superstar. Issue resolved.

I thought the fact that "Administrators" were listed in the permissions meant that all Admins had access, but apparently not. Now I added my specific login account, it works fine.

Thanks so much for your help, these UAC things in Windows are quite confusing, I am not (entirely) stupid!!
