Why big concern over bloated by MB these days when have Gigabytes and Terabytes of space on your drives.Space is not my overall concern only with a third party software.

  2. *Shrug* IDunno. I do like as clean a computer as I can get, as some programs run in the background, or install other programs that do. This slows down the computer as to why I don't just fill it up with bloatware. Just found out I had a more useful PDF program on my computer, so I removed adobe, so I didn't have any of its background processes taking time up from faster operation.

Yeah, but 40-100MB not gonna break it.I understand what you mean i tend to be same in ways.Shut off running process, ones you can, get more RAM.

If you have a medium-sized (typically 180-260) SSD, you may need all the space you can get if you're running games and/or editing media. And small speed gains adds up! This probably just boils down to preference, really.

True, now a game is as ones here would call it bloatware, talking from 7GB up to 50-60GB,more of a concern should i buy it, do i want to use the space. I have a second SSD just for games, was my solution to that knowing how much space they take up without worrying about my OS drive being big enough.

Used Adobe before no issues, Foxit has good reviews though, new to me have to decide unless i go with the MS Reader app.

I tried out the Adobe posted in the OP and it's nice.. but I'm using Nitro Reader 3.. I like it over Foxit Reader.

I see fire starting this this thread, so I'll stop posting in this thread. Thank you for replying, but again, someone asking why bloated software is bad is just not worth it.

I'll try to look into Nitro Reader, however M$ Reader seems like it might be better.

I was not aware that I would raise such discussion by such a simple question. The more astonishing it is that - apart from "big download" - people with regard to contents obviously don't have a reason not to use Foxit Reader.

Thanks guys for your offers on other readers, i take no offense to any different opinions, size of software for me not the issue.

For me neither. Speed however would be one for me. And often, if a program has a bgger size, it also is slower. However, obviously slowness is not the problem with Foxit Reader, I expect that otherwise someone would have written.

What also would be an argument for me is if there were many PDF files, which such a reader could not open. The PDF standard evolves and obviously, if you are not part of the creation of that standard, it will be more difficult at least to stay fully compatible with its newest features. Obviously that also is not a problem? ...

Not always the case if a program is bigger it will be slower, think part of it has to do with your system, system configurations, amount of running processes, drive space and compatibility. I was never familiar with Foxit Reader but now i am from recommendations and even doing my own research afterwards saw that it is one of the top rated programs for this. Adobe name has been well known for years is why most will go that way, my question here originally was has anyone tried it, not what is better then it, but i did appreciate the input.

By no means i was looking for a debate or arguments between members over it, as you will see what is has caused a member here. Back to subject i have used Adobe version 11 on Windows 8.1 never had issues with it at all, worked much better then MS Reader even though a bigger program, having an Intel i7 with 16GB RAM and enough drive space this does not worry me to think going slow my system down as i have bigger photoshop program do not.

I do get facts you mention and again appreciate any input or thoughts on how it works or worked for others users. Thanks i will make a decision on which.

Has anyone mentioned that PDF files also are readable in Edge? That's what my system defaults to, and I'm almost ready to remove Acrobat Reader DC.

I actually preferred it when PDFs opened in Acrobat Reader within IE, but that's gone in Edge.

Yes that was mentioned in my first thread, but not many options with Edge, already had a PDF that was large fail to open in Edge.

Ok.. I've given the version that's posted in the OP and I have to say it's very good. and I like it.

Adobe did a great job in improving the reader,, IMO... YMMV.
