Windows 10: Advanced scaling settings - how to reset?

Hi all,So, I tried using a custom scaling size for an app exe properties -> compatibility -> change high dpi -> open advanced because I was trying to scale an old app originally made for 640x480 resolutions to my 1440p monitor. It's this setting here. I added "100" as the custom scaling value.Now I don't want it anymore, because it doesn't work the way I thought it would. It changes my entire monitor resolution to 480p which messes up my other windows and desktop icons, so I want to turn it off.Except that I can't. I go back to advanced scaling settings, and when I remove the v

There is no compatibility tab. I am using windows 10 1803

Can you please list the steps with regard to the second solution you are proposing?

I want to avoid having to navigate the options to eliminate the scaling value of 100% and loging out, each time I am using my computer with the laptop screen only (i.e. not connected to the two external monitors). Windows should be able to detect this on
its own, without me telling windows "hey the two monitors are not connected", please use a scaling adpated for the laptop screen.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to customize the display scaling and check if it helps.

• Right click on the open area on the Desktop.
• Select the Graphics properties.
• Click on Display option.
• Click on the General settings from the left pane.
• Under the Scaling click on the Customize
  Aspect Ratio and try to customize.
• Click on Apply.
• If you want to reset the display scaling settings then follow till the above 4th step.
• Then under the Scaling click on the Maintain Display Scaling.
• Click on Apply.

This issue is common to high DPI external monitors. To resolve follow these steps:

1. Right-click on your Outlook shortcut, and select Properties.
2. Go to the Compatibility tab.
3. Check the Override high DPI scaling behavior checkbox.
4. Click Apply, then OK.
   
5. Launch Outlook.

Another workaround that worked for other users using external monitor/s is to set one of the external screens as the main display, log off, and then log on.
