Windows 10: Aero Peek Preview Too Bright in Windows 11

I'm experiencing an issue with the Aero Peek feature in Windows 11. When I hover over an app's taskbar icon to see the thumbnail preview, everything looks normal, but when I move the cursor over the thumbnail to activate Aero Peek and view the full window in the background, the window appears extremely bright almost like it's overexposed, making it difficult to see properly.Here’s what I’ve tried so far:Adjusting the transparency effects in Settings > Personalization > Colors.Updating my graphics drivers.Adjusting the system’s visual settings in Performance Options.Resetting to default

Aero Peek is not Working

I cannot see the Aero Peek. In my Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window, under Preview desktop with Aero Peek, the box next to Use Aero Peek to preview the desktop is checked but is grayed out. Please help.

 

Failed to disable Peek Preview in Windows 11

Hi, everyone!

To implement some custom fetatures I need to disable peek preview for the window. So I call DwmSetWindowAttribute with DWMWA_DISALLOW_PEEK set to True to disallow peek preview. It works well in Win7 and Win10 but in my newest Win11 machine, it sill shows peek preview when the mouse hovers over the window's thumbnail in the taskbar.

And I use a demo from VS2019 to reproduce this bug and still it works well in Window 7 and Window 10, but not in Windows 11.

I also read the SDK document and I don't find changes relevant to this behavior. Do I misuse this interface? If you know the right way to disable it, let me know plz~~

Steps to reproduce the bug

1. Open Visual Studio 2019 and New C++ Desktop Project.
   
2. With a built-in demo, disable peek preview with DwmSetWindowAttribute
   

1. Add link dependency dwmapi.lib
   
2. Compile and Run
   
3. Window shows but it still shows peek preview.
   

Expected behavior

No peek preview in Windows 11 22000.829

 

Windows "aero-peek" reqularly only presents blank program icon

Hi!

1. This happens with UWP programs and with "normal" ones. For example this happens with Spotify downloaded from Windows store and with Office products like Word and Excel which are not UWP programs.

2. This issue has been present for several months now.

3. Yes I have F-secure Safe installed and running

Aero peek is already enabled from visual settings, as mentioned on my first post, aero peek does work but regularly it just stops working.

I have already the latest display drivers installed. Also as I have been facing this issue for months now, I have updated my display drivers several times during this with no effect.

You can barely see it in the picture, but below the "blank" program icon you can see spotify controls that are part of the Spotify aero peek. So the aero peek is there but the blank program icon prints on top of it.
