Windows 10: After 1809 update BSOD

After updating my win 10 to 1809 - BSOD. Tried clean installation same result. And now I can`t back to old build. How I'm tired of these nasty surprises from microsoft...

This is most likely due to an installation/upgrade error with ATI driver's. I suggest doing DriveSweeper and the following:

• Drivesweeper all drivers & in Safe Mode
• Unistall all drivers that aren't used in DriveSweeper (CCC Profiler Updates, MSI AfterBurner, anything related to ATI that use's it's drivers.)
• After you do this, the first thing you need to do is go into Device Manager and Unistall your ATI Drivers

Once your done, restart the PC and then try installing the latest drivers.


I had several issues with this in the past, but I overcame it with logical reasoning and whenever I have a driver issue, I just use these steps and I always overcome the problem.

1809 bsod +

At first bsod while playing a game, didn't look at the error file.. loaded windows mouse and keyboard were not working. Restarted again. Got in to windows fine clicked on settings looked at updates, no new updates. Looked at my phone, not doing anything
on my computer and bsod... this time had only a second to look at error file (nvl something) before my computer turned off. !!! Restarted frozen windows loading screen. Restarted and the computer and windows gave me prompt to fix/restart.. I couldn't rollback
to previous windows version so I did a reset.

Fyi, this isn't the first bsod I've experienced with 1809. Last few weeks I have had two others one associated with my graphics card driver as soon as I installed 1809. The second while trying to get that fixed.

I've had windows sense 1989 windows 3.1... I've never experienced as many blue screens with any other version or update. I am a bit disappointed in Microsoft.

 

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.


Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
