Windows 10: After I updated my computer, my plug in mic for recording has terrible quality. What do I do?

Hello community,I am not sure where to post this question, so I thought I would try here. I have a digital microphone that connects through a USB. Yesterday, I was using it to record some voiceovers for my job. It was crisp, clear, and recorded great audio. I used Audacity to record. I updated my computer yesterday. Windows 11 2022-12 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64 based systems. When I started trying to use my microphone again today, the sound quality is terrible. I have tried:- Uninstalling and reinstalling Audacity- Unplugging the mic and replugging it multiple times-

Gamebar Mic Quality Issues

Whenever I use the gamebar on my PC to join a party chat with my friends on Xbox I am told the mic quality has a ton of feedback in combination with sounding like being underwater. I tested the mic on discord and some recording software and the mic sounded perfectly normal and clear. I then tried plugging in another mic with the same result of terrible quality on game bar but good quality everywhere else. Does anyone know a fix? I have tried resetting the settings on gamebar and that did nothing. Also tested plugging my mic into my series X and it had 0 issues in party chat on there.

 

Making an audio recording with my plug in mic

I want to make a couple of radio ad recordings via my computer. I have windows 10 and I have plugged in the mic in the back of the computer. Is there some basic program already on the computer that I can use to make a recording with my mic or do I need
some special program or software? I am not exactly IT savvy.

 

Game DVR Microphone Quality Isn't Good

I think something must have changed with the Creator's Update. My Game DVR mic quality was really good before the update, and now it sounds terrible. Seems to only affect USB microphones though because I also tried it with an analog mic, and the quality
was good. Updating my USB mic drivers didn't help.

Game DVR is the only program that is affected for me. All other recording software with my USB mic works as expected.
