Windows 10: After installing KB44870717 and KB4100347, "Error 1309. Error reading from file:...

Hi,


We have received the following error after Win 10 2019 February update when we tried to install our software patch on Win 10:

patch Error:
Error 1309. Error reading from file: C:\Windows\Installer\$PatchCache$\Managed\24199AFB0A233AE4A817C9994D94147B\.... Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.


The issue appears to be caused by KB44870717 and KB4100347 windows updates because if we uninstall them our software patch can be installed successfully.


We have checked the permissions on the file in the $PatchCache$ the error message refers to but SYSTEM has full permission.


Has somebody else experience same or similar issue?

Is it a known issue?

List the EXACT "blah, blah" you mention, here please... for ALL installation cases!

(Sound like a possible "DLL-Hell" issue, but "Windows File Protection" &/or "System File Protection" should have countered for this... no biggie, there's ways around that too!)

CRC error

As some of you may know, I'm working on an ultimate sort of driver for the ADI1988 CODEC. Its going quite well, all files\mods are compiled, and the inf is written. However, there is one error that eludes me... basically cos I'm not an uber leet programmer.. yet.

The error is;




Now, before its suggest, no I haven't replaced this file, the file being used is the original file so this error, to me at least, shouldn't be occurring as I only know this error to occur if the file is replaced with an older\newer one compared to the installer being used.

So, anyone got any ideas? /nudge W1z? *Big Grin
