Windows 10: After installing windows latest update July 26, 2019—KB4505903, sleep functions stops working

I have set power settings to turn of the monitor and PC after 10 mins.


However whilst the screen turns off, the PC stays on and I lose ALL response from the keyboard (all lights are out) and the HDD light on the PC is also extinguished. The only light on is the green power light on the desktop.


This has become infuriating.


Also when I actioned the install of this update overnight, when I came back to the PC in the morning it was STILL on and I had lost all control of the keyboard. I had to press the restart button to gain access to my PC. On another occasion I had to depress and hold the power button to regain control of the PC.


I have concerns that this update has in some way affected the performance of my PC (???)


Any ideas ?

July 26, 2019—KB4505903 (OS Build 18362.267)

I downloaded and installed the above cumulative update on July 18th. It downloaded and installed without any problem and is listed in the update history as 'Installed successfully'. The problem I have is that when I do a check for any new updates I get
that same update offered again. If I download and try to install the update it fails to install correctly and comes up with an error message. If I try to uninstall the original update it won't let me do this. I can't find anyway to stop windows update offering
this update again. PC is running fine.

I downloaded in error the new upgrade and I need help to UNINSTALL and go back to previous version
