After KB4023057 update on 7-th of April can't reboot, suht down nor use BT devices (Windows 10)

    Hello,

After this update in the heading (version number 2.57.0.0) I have multiple problems.

    1. Can't reboot nor shut down Windows.

    - when rebooting or shutting down, I get a message that there is something that Windows can't close "Task Host Window, Task Host is stopping background tasks. (\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsColorSystem\Calibration Loader )

    - Restarting by force (Restart anyway button) causes a blue screen with a message that the PC ran into trouble and for support person I should give this info "Stop code: DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE"

    - ignoring the message jumps back to desktop after some time

    - Cancel button just throws back to desktop.

    2. I can not uninstall the update.

    - the update is under the Apps & features settings

    - selecting uninstall, it start gathering information and then just stays like that for at least 15 minutes (then I give up and just end the task under task manager)

    3. Can not reboot in safe mode.

    - holding down the shift and then clicking on the restart I get the troubleshooting screen and I can choose to restart in safe mode, but after that the screen goes black and it crashes with the same DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE or just stays black. After force shut down from the PC power button or after the new BSOD (DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE) it just reboots like nothing has happened and runs in normal mode (not safe mode).

    4. Bluetooth dongle is not functioning nor the bluetooth earphones (obviously).

    - the problem isn't with the devices tho. Under the bluetooth settings it just informs that there is some driver error for both named devices (dongle and earphones)

    - I can not remove the devices even if I remove the bluetooth dongle (removal failed or something similar is stated after some time)

    - if I remove the bluetooth dongle, then the PC would not boot to Windows at all and it would just hang either when loading drivers (black screen, blue windows logo, circling balls - some point the balls stop circling and that is it) or somewhere after the user has been loaded (user name visible, background picture and those circling balls - again at some point the balls stop circling and the PC just hangs).

    5. Troubleshooting apps do not do anything also - they just keep gathering information and that is it. I have tried the update troubleshooting, driver troubleshooting, bluetooth troubleshooting. They won't do anything, ask anything or even cancel - nothing.

I am out of googling and I can't solve the problem with this KB4023057 update. And there is a big varaiety of problems so just doing some workarounds is not the solution. This update has to be removed, just help me to get to safe mode to be able to uninstall it or tell me, how to get it uninstalled...

    With the best regards,

    :)

  2. Microsoft blocks Windows 10 April Update for Intel SSD 600p Series

Microsoft is blocking some Intel SSDs from installing the April 2018 Update after discovering an incompatibility issue that causes performance and stability issues. In short, the problem was explained by Microsoft as: “When attempting to upgrade to Window 10 April 2018 Update select devices with certain Intel SSDs may enter a UEFI screen reboot or crash repeatedly.” Microsoft says that this issue has no workaround and that those that have attempted to update Windows 10 to the Windows 10 April 2018 Update should revert back to Windows 10 Fall Creators Update version 1709.

Unfortunately, the announcement by Microsoft fails to list what specific Intel SSD models are having issues with the OS update. We contacted Intel and discovered that the Intel SSD 600p Series of client drives that was first introduced to the market in 2016 is the most popular drive that is having issues.
