Windows 10: After moving from Linux to Win 10 Plex server no longer works

Previously I ran Linux Mint on a machine solely for the purposes of running plex server. its recently gone down due to a bad virus and no way to urge it from Linux I thought I would move back to windows for safety since there are ransomware removal tools on Windows.


Under Linux, Plex worked perfectly, all the time, no interuptions in the 3 years the server was turned on. I have installed a fresh copy of Win10 home 64bit and installed Plex Media Server. I have been able to get to the dashboard natively though edge and have added my media ad there are no error messages internally on the server. ii have turned of all sleep settings and I can reach the media folders through the network as mounted volumes so I know I don't have an issue with the machine itself being unavailable on the network.


None of my Pex devices (Plex app on x3 firesticks, x Rasberry Pi's running Plexbian and 1x android phone running the Plex app) can connect to the Plex server.


The firesticks and the Pi's can see the Plex server listed as WIN-LAP as it is named in Plex but is markes as offline. The Android app sees the windows machine name n the network but gives the label as "Needs Update". All apps and server software are the latest versions... No settings are different, nothing is different other than the operating system the Plex Server is running on....


Im already bald, I cant scratch my head any more without eventually getting to brain..

PLEX Media Server fails to start after anniversary update - MFPlat.dll not found

Prior to installing the Windows 10 Anniversary update today, my Plex Media Server ran fine on Windows 10 PRO N, having once previously installed the Media Feature Pack for Windows 10.

However, post update, Plex no longer starts, citing MFPlat.DLL not installed. So, did Windows 10 anniversary update uninstall this? How do I get the DLL to be installed? I reinstalled the feature pack, but it still isn't working.

I even tried uninstalling the anniversary update, and plex, and reinstalling Plex, but that didn't work either.

Any suggestions on how to get a working MFPlat.DLL

Plex Media Server not working after Windows 10 updates

Plex Media Server worked under Windows 7 and continued to work after the upgrade to Windows 10. Yesterday Windows applied updates and not Plex appears to be running but cannot be view in the browser and is not seen on my LAN.

The url is :

http://127.0.0.1:32400/web

The response is:

Hmm, we can't reach this page.
Try this

• Make sure you’ve got the right URL:http://127.0.0.1:32400
• Refresh the page
• Search for what you want

Command netstat -ao |find /I "listening"

showed 0.0.0.0:32400 is listening along with about 40 other ports on 0.0.0.0

and only ports 5354, 23401, and 27015 on 127.0.0.1

I would appreciate any advice on how to fix this.

After posting this I found that the Plex server can be accessed using url:

localhost:32400/web

But the icon in the system tray uses 127.0.0.1:32400/web, which does not work.

I would still like help to make the icon link work, thanks.

 

Plex Server no Longer Available on Roku TV

Hi,

Ever since the Latest update to Plex I can't Access my Windows 10 Based pc Server but... I can on my Zotac Mini PC which has Windows 7. A bug in the W10 Plex Software? Or a bug with Plex on the Roku TV with connection with W10?

It's the Plex on Roku TV that's bugged I think for connection with W10... With the Latest Program update
