Windows 10: After performing a reset on my laptop, I can't sign in with my password anymore

After it started to lag, I performed the reset on the laptop with wiped the drive clean and reinstalled windows 10. But when I try to log in, the password that worked all this time, now doesn't. And when I type it in, it says "the user profile service failed to sign in. User profile cannot be loaded."

i could not figure out what forum this should go in, so feel free to move to whatever forum it should be in.
a friend just called, and said he has 2 daughters and 2 dell laptops. his daughters have lost the password to both laptops. is there a way to reset the password without a full reformat? he said his daughters have a lot of music, pictures, ect. and wants to avoid reinstalling windows.
i know that a long time ago there was a jumper on the motherboard that would reset the password on a regular pc. is there such a jumper on a laptop? or is there any free software that would let him reset the passwords? he can not afford a dell tech to fix, and i told him i would see if there was a way to reset it without a format. thanks!

I reset my windows 10 laptop password. I forgot the new password and now I am locked out of my computer.

Kindly consider the following steps:

1. Go to the Microsoft account password reset page (https://account.live.com/password/reset) and sign in with the email address associated with your Microsoft account that the laptop is linked to.
   
2. Microsoft will ask to verify your identity. Choose to receive the verification code via email or phone number associated with the account.
   
3. Once you receive the verification code, enter it on the website to prove it's you.
   
4. You'll then be prompted to create a new password for your Microsoft account.
   
5. After resetting your Microsoft account password, restart your laptop and try signing in with the new password you just created
