  1. After reinstalling windows 10, Apps on D drive don't appear in search

Had a few issues with my pc as a whole but the last mess up meant that I needed to reinstall windows. The person who did it for me took out my D driveHDD which has most my apps etc, but not the os. He then took the data off my SSD C drive and on to an external drive, replaced windows on the SSD and then put the data back on the SSD. I'm assuming he left some apps on the wiped SSD as i lost a few programs still.

Anyway, now with the D drive put back in, it doesn't seem to connect very well to windows, everything is there in the files but i cant search for them from start, and if i want to uninstall something using the Add or Remove programs feature it cant find any apps to uninstall despite there being tones. I installed a new app onto the D drive and that now shows up.

I've tried using the Search troubleshooter already and restarting my pc. A lot of these apps are steam games, I also tried verifying the integrity of the game files already.

    :)

  2. D drive

    Hi,

Based on the details you have provided us, it appears that there might be some corrupted contents on the said partition. We can also consider that this is caused by a virus.

For us to check if a certain virus is hiding your files, kindly follow the steps below:

    • Type Command prompt in the search bar.
    • Type-in the following command:

      attrib -h -r -s /s /d D:\*.*
    • Press Enter to execute the command.

If you think that there is nothing important stored in it, then we suggest that you reformat your D drive so that you can use the free space for important files.

You can follow the steps below to start with the process:

    • Click on the File Explorer.
    • Select This PC.
    • Right-click on your D drive, then click on Format.
    • Follow the on-screen process to finish formatting the partition.

Let us know how it goes so that we can further assist you.

Reinstalling Windows 10 to sell a PC - is the 'Remove everything' option enough?

Restore factory settings do list Removes your personal files, apps and settings, and reinstalls the version of Windows that came on this PC.

So if this isn't true well than just erase the drive and install a clean Windows 10 with all the drivers u need but why should it be true
