  2. TPM malfunction error

    Hi Asura0407,

My name is Roger W, an independent advisor trying to help. Let's try with the following suggestions, please:

"You can try clearing the TPM to the factory default values and allowing Windows to re-initialize it. For important precautions for this process, and instructions for completing it, see Clear all the keys from the TPM, later in this topic.

If the TPM is a TPM 2.0 and is not detected by Windows, verify that your computer hardware contains a Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) that is Trusted Computing Group-compliant. Also, ensure that in the UEFI settings, the TPM has not been disabled
or hidden from the operating system.

If you have TPM 1.2 with Windows 10, version 1507 or 1511, the TPM might be turned off, and need to be turned back on, as described in Turn on the TPM. When it is turned back on, Windows will re-initialize it.

If you are attempting to set up BitLocker with the TPM, check which TPM driver is installed on the computer. We recommend always using one of the TPM drivers that is provided by Microsoft and is protected with BitLocker. If a non-Microsoft TPM driver is installed,
it may prevent the default TPM driver from loading and cause BitLocker to report that a TPM is not present on the computer. If you have a non-Microsoft driver installed, remove it and then allow the operating system to initialize the TPM"

Let us know if the solution above works for you.

TPM Ready with reduced functionality; unable to use BitLocker

Well at this time I have no other suggestions other than to call Asus and see if there's something else that needs to be done or checked on that board.

    1. BTW What specific version of Windows 10 are you running?
    2. Are you on the insiders track?
    3. Also, where are you trying to save your TPM password to?

    Thanks.

After trying to remove device from AAD join , unable to re-add it. Got TPM malfunctioning...

Getting error 0x8009002d when trying to sign in with a pin, can't remove PIN

    Hi Ryan,

This error message usually appear if your system's TPM is not turned on, but take note that not all devices have TPM chip on their system. To check if the issue is not with the TPM, I suggest that you make sure that your BIOS is updated, then ensure that
TPM is turned ON in the BIOS. You can follow this steps on how to check TPM status:

    1. Simultaneously click Windows key + R.
    2. Type tpm.msc, then Enter.
    3. TPM Management windows will appear and check under Status if it is stated that "The TPM is ready for use".

Let us know if you need further help.
