after update I am no longer able to use DCRAW to write a TIFF file to any folder

    Hi

I've been using DCRAW.EXE for some decade or more now and use it to make TIFF files from my various cameras RAW files, that was until tonight, when it seemed to function correctly, gave correct output but just there was no file after it ran.

I've checked that I have permissions on the folders (and I'm Administrator on my machine)

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit edition

I don't seem to be able to find the build number anymore (so if that's needed please let me know where that's moved to)

    :)

  2. Cannot see tiff Previews in WIndows 10 - Tiff files only

    Hi Deepika,

If I convert the tiffs to another format, like jpg, bmp or Dng then it previews fine. But this isn't a solution as I need to edit them in their existing file format before their final stage as Jpegs.

I'm concerned by this, because it's unusual thing to go wrong and suggests a bigger problem elsewhere. I've checked the registry and it's set to preview tif and tiff files. But isn't.

  3. converting multiple tiff files into one

    Hello SNOHOMY,

Open the Word file and then click File->Print from the application menu.

Choose TIFF Image Printer 11.0 from the list of printers and then click the Print button.

Enter the location and filename for the TIFF file and then click Save.

Open the JPEG image and click File->Print from the application menu.

Choose TIFF Image Printer 11.0 from the list of printers and then click the Print button.

Enter the same filename, choose TIFF Multipaged (*.tif) and check Append to file, then click Save.

Now open the Excel spreadsheet and click File->Print from the application menu.

Enter the same filename, choose TIFF Multipaged (*.tif) and check Append to file, then click Save.

Now all 3 files are merged together in a single TIFF file.

You can see it in a video

Hope it helps, have a good day

How to set Paint to view .tiff files in Windows 10.

    Hi Karen,

You may be facing the above issue due to unassigned program or application to open that particular file type on the computer. Assigning the default program or application for a particular file type will help in easy access of the same on the computer.

To assign Paint to view .tiff file type, follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type Default programs and select the top most search result.
    • Scroll down the page and click on Choose default apps by file type from the window.
    • Locate .tiff file format, click on the program and select
Paint application from Choose an App window.
    • Close the window and check if the changes are effective.

Write to us with the status of viewing .tiff file in Paint on Windows 10 computer in the same post for further assistance. Your reply is most important for us to ensure we assist you accordingly.

    Thank you.
