Windows 10: after update screen dimming even when settings are set

    I tried going into power settings and there is no setting to turn the dimming off... I am not sure whats going on and its getting really frustrating. I am using bitsum highest performance powerplan and everything is turned to "never"... When I go into advanced power options under display there is no adaptive brightness setting or dim setting. I tried using custom power plan as well to no avail. Even when watching netflix now the screen dims after like 5 minutes. Any suggestions?

    Screen Display Dim

    Since I updated to the new windows 10 version, my display is quite dim. I go into settings to adjust it and it will not let me. The brightness is at full and the screen is at about 20%.

    Suggestions to fix?

    Screen Dim Issue

    Hi Donald,

    Thank you for updating on the status.

    I would like to ask if you are using a desktop or a laptop. The steps provided by Likhitha was for laptop.

    If you are using a desktop, follow the steps below.

    • Navigate to Start>Settings>System>Display.
    • In the right pane, click on Advanced Display Settings.
    • Click on Color Calibration under Related Settings.
    • Provide password (if any) for the UAC prompt and click on OK.
    • Click on next and follow the on screen prompts to adjust the brightness and contrast.

    If the issue still persists, suggest you to change the display settings of the monitor using the option keys provided in the monitor.

    I tried googling Windows Ten, "how to dim screen," but the layout listed is not the layout I have. I just got Ten yesterday. How do you dim the screen?

    I can't even find the options in the Display section.
