Windows 10: After update windows defender is not working

Hi, my windows defender upon updating yesterday actually stopped working? Basically yesterrday I updated my computer, and when I opened it I opened windows defender for an quick scan it usually finds nothing as I use malwarebytes too I'm paranoid if you couldn't tell, when I opened it it was just stuck on its logo then closed when I waited there? Please respond / help me as quick as yo ucan, as I'm scared and can't afford another computer.

Defender updates no longer shown

I suggest you to follow the steps below:

• Type defender in the search box.
• Click on update.
• Check for the date on which defender is being updated.
• If the recent date is mentioned then it will not show in the Automatic Updates.
• Also click on update definition and check if any update is pending.
