    ok so I think I might have found a way to fix this for now. I went into the camera folder and renamed the photos to just add the .jpg now it really wont change the file type as the file type is hidden but adding the .jpg to the end of all photos made them visible. I guess for now I would have to do this!

  7. It works fine since the 10074 release for a Canon Rebel EOS with USB. Didn't install any driver.

    @jofap Thank you that information.

    Today I received Nikon reply this question, and they say that it would be advisable to contact Windows support.
    So it's Windows 10 problem, like jofap say earlier.

    All Nikon users, Nikon plans to replace the ViewNX2 with a new ViewNX-i software. ViewNX2 not updated anymore..

    ViewNX-i link.

    @Szymszon Before Microsft fix this, you can use VewNX-i software to transfer photos your pc.

    This is a Nikon firmware issue. The full length of the MTP driver version + OS and build number for the RTM version of the Windows 10 that is sent to the device is slightly longer than the version string that was sent by the preview versions of the OS. The Nikon firmware hits a bug with the longer string which causes some of their cameras to misbehave.

    The problem can be (and probably will real soon be) cheaply fixed by truncating the version string sent to the device, but that does not make it a "Windows 10 problem", more like a Windows 10 workaround for a Nikon bug *Wink

    In related news, Fuji is updating the firmware for 45 of their models to resolve a similar (but not necessarily identical) issue: Announcement of support for Microsoft Windows 10 (Digital camera)

    Cheers,
    Axel

    Today's Windows 10 updates (3081441/3081444) contains a workaround that resolves the "Nikon appears empty" issue.
