    After Windows Fresh Start, do I need Mfg software to update drivers?


    I did a Fresh Start on my HP Spectre x360. Prior to that, I had used the HP support software to identify and download driver updates. After the Fresh Start all of the HP software is gone. That is fine to me. However, I was wondering if I actually need that software to keep drivers & bios up-to-date, or if Windows Update will provide updates when needed.

    Windows 7 wont install drivers

    If you having an issue installing a driver that worked before you formatted or wont install on a fresh build, sometimes this means hardware damage

    Driver update software

    Windows Update should have a considerable amount of good drivers. They'll be listed under the "Optional Updates" section. That should give you rather good functionality right off the bat. If it's a branded PC, latest drivers will likely have to come from the manufacturer's website. For the most part, built-in drivers should be Good Enough™

    I don't think I've run across an automagic driver installer that wasn't loaded with malware.

    Unlocked Realtek HD Audio Drivers Windows 7 & 8 (With Dolby Digital Live and DTS Interactive)

    DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .
