Windows 10: After Windows Update, Logins have disappeared.

Hello,Our Surface has not been connected to the internet for a while. So no updates for a couple of years.We connected and ran Windows Update, and upon reboot, our login screen has changed. It is now asking us to enter a username and password, instead of presenting our profiles to click on. We have no idea what our logins were and can only use the guest login, which of course is useless. Note we only use local accounts and went to great pains to do so I might add.We tried booting into safe mode, but cannot as it asks for bit locker information. To my knowledge, we have never installed anythi

Local user disappeared frin login options after upgrade

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I was unable to fix the issue. Here are my steps:

• I've uninstalled the last 3 updates (the ones from september):
  
  • however, they keep getting reinstalled:
    

• I've added two new users: one from the GUI, the other as you suggested in step 2:
  
  • They are listed under users;
    
• I've also booted in safe mode just to check.
  

I still have no way to login other than with the main account. No local users are available at login or when I go to start menu and click on my user.

Please advise

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to select the appropriate language in login screen at the bottom right corner and check if it helps.

Steps 2: Use On-screen keyboard in the login screen to login and check if it helps.

Add-Ons for Firefox crash since update to 80

I left Firefox open over night and attempted to login to LastPass this morning - all the addons crashed. I had Firefox Task Manager open at the time and before attempting the login all addons were in the list and not using very much resources. After attempting login, all of the addons disappeared from the Firefox Task Manager list.

I will try the additional suggestions.

If I want to try a new profile without losing my saved/sync profile (and hopefully with the option of syncing my data back into the new profile) what steps should I take? Or is it just a given that if it is profile corruption, the sync profile is junk...?
