Windows 10: Age of Mythology does not work on the latest version of Windows 10, is there a way to play the game?

I installed AOM with the CD. I know it is really old but isn't there a way to play the game?

I have also tried it with the compatibility and still it does not work.

And all other entries are already very outdated.

I have gone through the game on the website. So, I suspect the issue you are facing could be because the game is not compatible with Windows 10. However, you can try running the game in compatibility mode. I suggest you to go to the article and try
the steps how to make older programs compatible with the this version of Windows.

You may also try installing the game in the compatibility mode. Follow the below steps to install the game in the compatibility mode.

1. Right-click on the game setup file and click on ‘Properties’'.

2. Click on the ‘Compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8/8.1 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done,
restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

I tried this and the program still won't open

Even after a couple of years it seems Windows 10 still won't play many older Microsoft games...I'm very disappointed.

Tried playing Age of Mythology and Empire Earth to no avail.
