Windows 10: Airplane Mode key on Windows 10 laptop locked in ON position.

No access to internet with WiFi or Ethernet as Airplane Mode is turned ON and locked (greyed out).

airplane mode totally locks my laptop

Hi, yesterday all of a sudden my ASUS X555LJ is locked, and I see the airplane mode little LED is on. Can't do anything at all, no Fn+F2 possible, totally stuck. I did not touch anything related to wifi or airplane mode in the first place.

After pressing OFF button for 10 seconds it switched off, but when I switch on the laptop, it won't boot. The airplane mode light is on. We left it on overnight and strangely enough in the morning we found a started and running laptop.

Helas, just now again it totally locked itself and the airplane mode led is on.

Any suggestions what this is and what to do, I have Win10.

Have installed windows 10.

Airplane mode is not turning off, even though I have gone to settings > airplane mode and moved the switch from the ON to OFF position. As soon as it is in the OFF position it automatically reverts back to the ON position.

Have seen many related questions online but no solution.

What do you suggest?

Let us try few of the below troubleshooting steps to disable Airplane mode and check if it helps.

Step 1: To turn off Airplane mode from Settings and check.

• Press Windows key, click on Settings
  from the left pane.
• Click on Network & Internet.
• Under Airplane mode turn it off and check.

Step 2: To Turn On or Off Airplane Mode in Network Notification Area Icon

  Click on the Network icon in the taskbar notification area.

  Click on the Airplane mode button to toggle on or off.
  

Step 3: To Turn On or Off Airplane Mode in Action Center

  Open Action Center by clicking Windows + A keys from keyboard.

If the settings are not refining, this issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ missing system files.

Step 4: I suggest you to run SFC scan and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• Right click on the Start button, click on

• Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit
  Enter.
• After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.
