    trying to make Echo Dot Alexa work

    Hi

    My name is Lester and hopefully, this helps answer your question

    You may try to steps below for us to fix the issue.

    1. Check the Alexa app to make sure all devices are set up on a single Amazon account. For instance, if your teen has a separate account and app for her Alexa, they might not work together properly.

    2. Move one or both devices so that the one you want to respond is closer to where you are speaking from.

    3. If the wrong device still responds, you can change the wake word for one of the Echo devices.

    or

    Try to uninstall and reinstall the Alexa app and check it again.
