Windows 10: All my Cumulative 1607 updates have failed since Sept. 13 ??

What I am trying to ask (and not doing a very good job of it ...lol) is if I would uninstall KB3176938 and discover I still couldn't install the latest Cumulative Update do you think I would be able to reinstall KB3176938 without any further problems above what I already have when it comes to using Windows update?

I've been unable to update for about 4 weeks "Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3185614) - Error 0x80070005"

System:Windows 10 Home(64 bit )


Installation time:11/29/2015 23:40:50






CPU:Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3227U CPU @ 1.90GHz


Memory:4096 MB DDR3 SDRAM 0


Disk:500 GB


Display adapter:Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000


Motherboard:SONY CORPORATION VAIO(Intel Ivy Bridge)


Monitor:15.4 inch, 1920 x 1080

Would the same solution apply?

 

That Access Denied error pops-up everywhere - I'd like to see the MS dev's troubleshoot that obscure stuff.

Either way, with permissions errors, it's best to run sfc /scannow - and then say a whole bunch of Hail Mary's or something - hopefully it will restore and verify the files being overwritten by the update.

Just in case anyone is still following this post I will update you on the latest.

This evening I got a message in Windows Update that I had updates to download and install. They were:

(1) A new Cumulative Update KB3194798

(2) Windows Malicious Software Removable Tool KB890830

(3) Security Update Microsoft Silverlight KB3193713 and

(4) Security Update Adobe Flash Player KB3194343

Number (1) failed like the previous three Cumulative Updates on my machine while (2), (3) and (4) installed successfully.

Why is it that just the Cumulative updates fail and all the other Microsoft and Windows Updates are installed successfully?

Is there any chance that my last successful Cumulative Update KB3176938 on Sept. 1 could have done something to my settings to cause all the Cumulative Updates after it to fail?

Any thoughts on this?

If you're having trouble with Windows update, give WUMT a try before going down the error code rabbit hole.
