    Is this different since version 2004 or was it the same in previous version of Windows 10. You are using File Explorer I assume.

    Can you go to Disk Management and post a screenshot showing the external storage. Also right click one file, select Properties and post a screenshot.

    Try ejecting the drive, wait a few minutes then plug it back in again.

    I need to further clarification regarding the question you've raised. Do you mean that the storage is already full but you're not able to see the files? If not, please provide more context.
