Windows 10: All the threads on Windows Update error message 0x8024002e are closed - here's what worked...

Like everyone else who has posted on the forum I tried a bunch of stuff - including, but not limited to:

• setting the WU and BITs services to automatic
• changing my registry
• DISM and SFC
• turning off services, renaming files and turning the services back on
• troubleshooter

Nothing worked.


But I was still on 1803 and 1809 was available so I used the Windows 10 Update Assistant.

It worked. Hurrah. I think it might be worth trying for minor updates and 'unblocking' the automatic updater.

Windows Update Error Code 0x8024002e - Using Windows 10

I walked through the steps as you suggested, restarted the computer, but I still get the error code 0x8024002e. Any other ideas?

Ya Ya Ya, there's over a hundred threads like this, ...

Anyway, started getting this error message a few days ago, and done a lot of searching on this error message, apparently it's not, uncommon.

In particular, the (currently) 4 updates that are being affected are:

• Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3173428) - Error 0x80070543
• Security Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3172729) - Error 0x80070543
• Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3174060) - Error 0x80070543
• Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3176493) - Error 0x80070543

The actions I've taken to date are:

1. Uninstalled firewall program (comodo)
2. Uninstalled anti-virus (Avast)
3. Reset the windows update catalog on local machine.

So the above errors are with the above done.

What other steps should I be taking to resolve the issue?

Error: 0x8024002e win10, when trying to update the system

Hey there folks,

I'm getting an error 0x8024002e when trying run windows update.

Going to settings > update & security > it says this:

"There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x8024002e)"

With an option to "retry" only to show the same message repeatedly.

I originally came across this error: 0x800F081F as seen by another user in the link below. Method 1 suggests using the update system which I can not do, as manifested above (0x8024002e)

Windows 10 update problem

I recently had win8.1 just upgraded to win10.
