All USB ports not working after Windows 10 2004 update

After the Windows 10 2004 update went through, none of my USB ports work as soon as Windows starts. I can use keyboard and mouse up until the Windows logo and little circle of dots shows. Nothing in the Setup menu changes this, and all Diagnostics checks show up fine.

All of the options I have read about involve tinkering with settings within Windows, which is impossible if neither keyboard nor mouse are recognized. The light of the mouse goes out as soon as Windows tries to boot.

I do not have USB 3 ports, only USB 2. What can I access pre-Windows startup to give me access to these mystery menus I keep reading about? One cannot access anything once the keyboard and mouse are not recognized, after all.

    :)

Method 3: Disable Selective Suspend feature.

    • Right click the Windows icon on the taskbar and choose ‘Power Options’. Click
‘Change Plan Setting’ on your current plan.
    • Choose ‘Change Advanced Power Setting’ on the chosen plan.
