Windows 10: All Windows Apps Icons blank on the Desktop

Hi,


So all my Windows Apps icons are blank on my desktop. They are ok in the task bar and on the start menu and even when searching but on the desktop they are all blank. I noticed this because I have Xbox game pass and the icons suddenly stopped showing up. I have attached screenshots.


PC build is only about 2 months old, all drivers up to date and windows on latest version: Windows 10 Pro

Version: 2004

OS Build: 19041.388


Methods I have tried:

DISM

sfc /scannow

clear thumb/icon cache

remove google drive backup/sync

reinstall xbox game pass app

reinstall game pass games

I tried the steps suggested in your links but neither have worked :/

 

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

Hi all,

• - Had the laptop hooked up to the TV last night via HDMI
  - Unplugged, then closed lid - putting it to sleep
  - Turned on today, no icons whatsoever.
  
  
  - Tried restarting the laptop
  - Tried restarting 'explorer.exe'

Any tips for getting them back? It's annoying the hell out of me!

When I open the explorer when uploading or downloading something, the icons are there..
