Windows 10: Amazon Kindle Application will download but not open.

My computer recently had to get factory reset, I was able to back up all my files but all of my apps were deleted. I had no problem redownloading apps like google chrome, spotify, microsoft office, etc, however, the Kindle for PC app wont download.


I've updated my computer, tried running it as an admin but nothing has worked.


Any ideas?


I have a textbook I need to access and kindle seems to be the only way to view it (I rented it on Amazon).

How to remove hotkey on Amazon Kindle PC that opens application

As of today, Ctrl + Alt + k began to randomly open the Kindle application on my Windows computer. This hotkey used to open my keepass application. Is there any way to disable this hotkey? This specific hotkey isn't even listed on Amazon's own keyboard shortcuts page

How to remove hotkey on Amazon Kindle PC that opens application

The hotkey is defined on the application shortcut. You can roughly follow the instructions in How to Create Keyboard Shortcuts in Windows 10:

1. Open the start menu
   
2. Search for the Kindle app
   
3. Right click and select Open file location
   
4. Right click on the shortcut icon and select Properties.
   
5. Go to the "shortcut key" setting and press backspace to clear it out.
   
6. Click OK to save.
