  1. amd driver and more than 1 monitor issue

have a windows 10 install on a MSI b450M Mortar Titanium with an AMD ryzen 2400G cpu with Vega graphics in the APU

all is well, unless I update my driver

    Win10-64Bit-Radeon-Software-Adrenalin-Edition-18.9.3-Oct5

any newer driver will result in my Dell 24" monitor connected by a DisplayPort to DVI adaptor

both the msi update tool and windows update often updates the radeon driver

a manual reinstall of the 18.9.3 always makes the dell spring back to life

the main monitor an asus vg27A connects by hdmi, has 3d support but tried to disable that without success

tried disconnecting the asus at bootup but no change in terms of the dell coming to life.

tried amd support forum and msi and reddit and the likes without anybody really being able to help

updated the bios of the msi motherboard, sadly I don't have a monitor with DisplayPort to test if that works :/

maybe a Nvidia GeForce 2060 super and hope their driver behaves and cross my fingers that all video card driver programmers did not get a memo that DisplayPort to DVI-d adaptors were dodgy and security risk and should be scorned.

    :)

SSD samsung evo and amd drivers

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

The issue could be because of the AMD drivers installed on the computer.

Since the Samsung SSD is working fine with the Microsoft AHCI driver, I suggest you to update the AMD driver and check if that helps. To update the AMD drivers follow the steps from the article

    Update drivers in Windows 10
    .

If updating the drivers didn’t help, I suggest you to roll back the driver to previous build and check if that helps. To roll back the driver to previous build follow the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press and hold the Windows + X key on the keyboard.
    2. Select Device manager.
    3. In Device manager, expand IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
    4. Right click on AMD SATA Controller and select
      Properties.
    5. Navigate to the Driver tab and click on Roll Back Driver.
    6. Restart the computer.

    Hope it helps.
