    Hello there! I have a very annoying problem and I might have found the culprit. Sometimes randomly, my screen decides to freeze and black out for 2 seconds, then return to normal with AMD drivers telling me that it had a timeout and restarted. I thought this was a driver/gpu problem, so I did a clean reinstall of the drivers, updated everything and waited to see if it sometimes will happen again. To make this short, at random moments it still does that, but I realized every time it happens, a windows update is downloading/installing in the background!     Hi,

    It is possible your AMD Radeon Settings crashes after update due to compatibility issue. To isolate your issue, kindly answer the following questions:

    • Did you get any error messages? If yes, could you provide us a screenshot?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
    • Does this happen only when you watch videos?

    Driver Error AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000

    ok, it didn't work after all. windows update has seemingly installed another
    driver update for my amd mobility radeon hd 5000, this time breaking it again.

    i tried what you suggested step by step, but that didn't work either. I'll try it again with running a win 7 driver in compatibility between steps two and three and keep you posted on the results.
