    How are their drivers these days?

    I had some frustrations with them, mainly when I was using a pair of 4870s in Crossfire. That was a while ago, I admit.

    For the most part the biggest complaints I have seen lately is the lack of CrossFire support in some games. Then again in most of the games where CrossFire doesn't work neither does SLi, and it is up to the game devs to implement it. case in point,

    That's one reason why I got rid of my two R9 270s and got a single R9 390.

    Those are nice cards but I prefer nVidia over AMD for gaming. I think nVidia's drivers are more robust. A friend of mine who uses Linux was having a very bad time with an AMD card. Switched to nVidia and problem solved. I guess AMD's driver support for Windows is better though. I don't know how the new Crimson drivers will perform but I still have my doubts.

    Another issue I have with AMD cards is very unoptimized power comsumption. Are newer cards any better? I am currently quite satisfied with my 970 GTX Maxwell card.
