Windows 10: An operating system wasn't found after resetting windows failed

Hi guys,

I have recently upgrade to Win 10 from windows 7 and it was running fine until it started booting with the analyzing and repairing windows screen. I had tried to get out of it by windows repair and by system restore but there were no points to restore too. I ended up trying the windows reset which failed when I selected to leave my files so then I tried the reset including removing my files. It failed part way through saying it could not complete the action and now when I boot up every time I get "An operating system wasn't found" etc. I do not have a windows CD or know my windows registration number. PLEASE help anyone!

I had a lot of junk in my computer, so I decided to delete it. I thought that I could just simply do factory reset. When I did it the screen showed ,,Resseting this pc" I leaved it alone and did other things. When I came back there was an error. I don't
remember what actually they showed, but I remember I choosed to try again. After about 30min. they showed me the same error. So then I remember I choosed to restart this computer. When pc restarted, it showed white letters in black screen ,,An operating system
wasn't found. Try disconnecting any drives that don't contain an operating system. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart". I tried to search for the solution, but it didn't work... What should I do?

If upgrade was successfully done and Windows 10 was sucessfully activated on your PC. Then you can clean install Windows 10 on the same device, via creating Bootable USB drive of Windows10 image (.iso).

 

That is true. Use another PC, get the Windows 10 media creation tool from the Microsoft website and use it to download a DVD/USB-Stick version of Windows 10. With that DVD/USB-Stick you should then be able to do a new install. Since you had successfully upgraded this PC to Windows 10 before, you will not have to enter a Windows product key; Windows should detect the registration status automatically.

 

Understand that if you do a clean install, that will blow away all the data, setttings and apps that you have on Win10.

What MIGHT work, once you Win10 install media, is booting from that and choosing the Repair option. You might have to go through that three times to get Win10 booting OK again.

Also, don't hold out hope that will work. I had my Win10 install suddenly stop booting on me yesterday, and when I did the Repair option, I got the (standard) useless error message that it could not repair my system. A lot of good that was! Fortunately, I do routine image backups and was able to restore from one I did last week.

 

Hey, I have the same problem! Windows 10 was working fine and I decided to start it on Secure Mode and It didn't start anymore!! If I do the boot with the iso file from Microsoft in a pendrive I won't loose any files, right? Thank's!!
