    Announcing Kaspersky Free Anti-Virus

Infallibility is really a bogus argument. Please tell us which AV company, or any other company for that matter, is infallible. All AV companies are always playing catch up. It's the nature of the industry. But, there is no other company that knows the inner workings of an OS better than the company that designed it.

  2. I haven't implied any are, just that the belief that a single update will solve all problems is daft.

Your argument mirrors mine from Announcing Kaspersky Free Anti-Virus - Page 6 - Windows 10 Forums

My scan found several "positives" so I will use Virus Total scan later to verify.

Have installed Kaspersky on my Insider, fortune favours the brave....joking aside, full scan 20 mins, quick scan 40 secs.
    Clean as a whistle.....

I have not lost faith with Defender as on 3 other computers....await the Creator Autumn Update when its security will be reinforced with the addition of Application Guard and Exploit Protection.

I think the worry is that with so many computers in the West having Kaspersky installed, buried sleeping code could be activated to damage key digital infrastructure before taking over the World.

But if the Western World has collapsed due to an alian power (I won't mention names) your PC and your world would be broken. Scary stuff!

You will probably get the same scanner as the paid version, just not so many of the bells and whistles. I think its a rather clever ploy on their part considering the attention it's been getting by the US administration.

Yep am under no illusions dear old uncle Eugene will not be giving away much but as a dedicated user I think it will not be that shabby like some I have tested.

Being cynical too Kaspersky has been getting steadily more expensive too as I was paying $70 for a 3 PC x 2 year all device licence but it suddenly disappeared from where I got that great deal. Another point to note is that their support site has now moved offshore from Melbourne to somewhere that sounds awfully like the Philippines and well it isn't the same anymore - the support I am meaning.
You have me at a loss and intrigued too re what you said about the interest it has attracted in the US just what was that?

Edit: Ok got it just sen the Reuters report on a Google and I can't say I am surprised after all the carry on going round over there just recently.
