That was pretty much the only bug for me on the latest build. I may go ahead and install it again, since it still keeps my settings from the 8.1 os.

 

this bug needs urgent attention, particularly if your storage was previously
set to allow downloads to the phone rather than the SD, by default..

If you are approaching the limits of your phone's memory, you will be unaware that action is required
to move data onto your SD card to reserve sufficient space..
- this is most important when upgrades come along as there is often a minimum
phone memory requirement for an update to proceed.. presumably to enable space for temp install files, etc..

it is most urgent that Microsoft address this basic issue as soon as possible..

 

is there any setting for cortana to have it on a "listening-mode" 24/7 - or atleast is it possible to activate it hands-free somehow?

 

Depends on what model phone you have. My Lumia 640 XL doesn't have that feature.

 

- wouldn't that be a bit heavy on the phone's battery-life.. (??)

 

Just reinstalled the insider. So far so good, looking forward to the next update.

Probably a bit late. Just got on the forum. Yes. "Hey Cortana" is at the end of the Settings list in 8.1 on a Lumia 1520.

 

No, it does not drain the battery. On mine anyway. WinRT apps go into hibernation after a time. They are there, but use very little RAM, therefore battery. And come to think of it I never used it during Quiet Hours, so not sure if it's on during those hours.

i dont get it, what has 8.1 doing with cortana? cant find such a setting in mobile preview? *Redface

 

As this bug, however frustrating, is a "feature" of this build, because MS told us about it, I wouldn't count on them fixing it before another build...

 

"Hey Cortana" isn't available on all Windows Phones.

 

Just saying is all. I'm sure it's in the preview. They won't be dropping it any time soon. Probably not available in your country with your language. Try the English language and region.

 

"Hey Cortana" will only work on phones enabled with 'SensorCore' technology and have a 'Snapdragon 800' or higher, processor.
