Windows 10: Annoying boot issue after upgrade to Windows 10 version 1511

FYI, on build 10586.17 no matter if you do a clean install or update from 10240 to 10586 the issue is still there. Uninstalling GPU drivers does not help because even with MS graphics it's there. It's something in the boot files that causes this and it seems that laptops are mostly affected. Also FastStartup disabled does not solve the problem. I'm not even sure that MS has acknowledged this problem. We'll see...
This issue does not affect W 10 performance, it's a cosmetic issue, at least it seems to...

Glad we were able to point you in the right direction. So although the problem with 10586 remains, provided you block updates for now, please mark the thread solved.

 

I don't think the thread should be marked solved, as it's clearly NOT. Future searches will just confuse people to think the answer lies here when in fact there isn't an answer yet.

In one way I agree with you.. and the option is up to Imaneke who has a 'working solution' i.e. the PC works. From that point of view, the immediate problem has 'gone away'. If Imaneke is looking for further input, the thread can be left open. This issue appears to be intractable from what I've read for those who experience it, and there is a fuller thread on it elsewhere. It's a totally unacceptable situation. Is 'solved'= 'I no longer have immediate functional problems requiring input' or 'completely resolved technically'?

You missed the point of this thread, it does not involve slow boot times, but the W 10 GUI logo flashing and appearing twice with also laggy spinning dots.
To make it easier for you, it's the boot sequence that has changed in build 10586.

The boot after restart or cold boot on Windows 10 GA Build 10240:
1. BIOS
2. Windows Boot Logo
3. Blank Black Screen
4. Login Screen

The boot after restart or cold boot on Windows 10 GA Build 10586:
1. BIOS
2. Windows Boot Logo
3. Blank Black Screen
4. Windows Boot Logo flashing twice with laggy spinning dots.
5. Login Screen

Step 4 is the difference.

And I do not think that this issue is solved, unless a user reverts back to build 10240.
Just my opinion.
