Windows 10: Annoying sound - windows sounds disabled and have no idea where it comes from...

Hi there...


the title says most of it. I get an anoying sound from time to time - windows sounds are disabled (sheme: no sounds) and I have no idea where it comes from... I don`t habe many tools installed - none that made this sound like a year ago or sth.


I could post a link to the sound - but in these times I am not so sure about copyrights and getting sued...


In general: if you guys experienced a random sound (its like a loud and aggressive notification: da-da-da...) - where would you start to look how you could identify and get rid of it?

3250 Shutter Sound

Just tried disabling the warning tones and it didn't work. It's really annoying because there's not even an option to turn off the speaker so that no sound comes out in any circumstance.

Thanks for the idea though.

Any other suggestions?

 

Sound Quality


One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

May not be a speaker problem.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps:

• Right click on the volume icon which is on bottom right corner.
• Click on playback devices and highlight speakers.
• Then below click on properties.
• And then click on Advanced Tab and below click on
  Restore to default
• And then Apply and click on OK
