This laptop I'm using is an HP G72 C55DX Notebook PC. I wanted to boost the performance. I recently installed an antivirus I found on Microsoft's website, but now when I look in Control Panel for things that I could maybe use to boost the performance of the laptop, and it had a Windows Exclamation icon with something like this: "A program is slowing the startup speed of your computer." I clicked on it, and I come to find "Antimalware Service" adds 112.7 SECONDS to the bootup time. Is it potentially unsafe to click "Remove from list"? Here's more information down here. 2. Antimalware Service Executable Runs at Startup

    Hey Antonio,

This "Antimalware Service Executable" service is more complicated than others as it is an high privilege process.

First of all it isn't displayed in startup and whenever I try to stop it using task manager it says : "The operation could not be completed - Access is denied" even when task manager is launched with administrative privileges.

    I tried various methods like

1.Turning off real-time protection (It turns on automatically at next startup)

    2.Changing task-scheduler settings but it didn't worked.

    Please suggest another method.

    Antimalware Service Executable

    Hello,

Currently I'm facing a problem with the antimalware service executable. It uses half of my memory, I did tried some solutions such as: Change Windows Defender’s schedule and Add Antimalware Service Executable to Windows Defender exclusion list. However, none of these solutions has yet fixed my issue. Any help is appreciated.

Should I install another antivirus program?
