Any reason to upgrade past 1511?

I'll certainly do that. My main PC I'm about to upgrade was only updated to W10 from W8.1 on 10 June this year using the latest Windows 10 ISO at the time. I'm surprised I'm on v1511 since your chart shows the W10 version on 10 June would have been 1602 /1606?

Windows ISO's are always a little behind, there never up to date with latest versions. *Smile

Might do the upgrade one day if I am bored.
I wish you pick and choose the options on Win10 when u install it
I have no use for 3D or Cortina as a example
My other system is still running 8.1 with no problems

    Thanks

Hi, you don't need to use any of the apps, or Cortana, if you don't wish to. Simply ignore them. Don't even waste time uninstalling or disabling them.

Use Classic Shell as a start menu (so much better than Win 10's), and use Win 10 as a conventional PC with no tiles, and desktop programs.

As ever, use disk imaging routinely, and update before major upgrades.

If you're using Win 10, it's simply best to keep up to date. MS is (very slowly) resolving some issues as it rolls out updates, although sometimes there has been a hiccup.

And there's no need to upgrade to Win 10 if what you have meets your needs and is sufficiently secure.

Any reason to upgrade past 1511?

The image you linked to shows three version numbers, 1511, 1602 and 1606. These do not refer to versions of Windows 10, they are version numbers for the System Center Configuration Manager. It is support for the Configuration Manager v. 1511 that's ending, not Windows 10 v. 1511. We are still getting CUs for the original 10240 - the latest being Dec. 13th, so 1511 should be safe for a while yet *Smile

I wish I knew that last week and I wouldn't have updated to v1607! I had to solve a serious issue of not being able to create new accounts in v1607 due a corrupt default user profile. It worked fine before the upgrade

If it's less than 10 days ago you should still have the option to roll back (unless you deleted windows.old).

Did you catch that Microsoft is now going to allow up to a 35 day defer on updates. Yep, that is going to be fun. Someone is going to complain and want it longer.
