  1. Any software to monitor exactly what windows 10 is downloading?

I'd like to know if there is a program, free or not, to monitor EXACTLY which programs Windows 10 is downloading.
I would need a more detailed list with the exact download files, not just the list of the Network Usage / App Usage.
Since yesterday I saw Total Mb dowloaded rapidly increase and I wasn't downloading anything on purpose.

Or is there a way Windows 10 provides I don't know yet?

    Best regards,

    :)

As for hard setting my phone, why should I? I tried 2 (two) phones and neither sync - so there is no way there is a phone error, since one of them is a clean install (new firmware, new software) ..

Why should you try it? For me, it is a possible solution and very often will work. I would remove the device from Device Manager, remove the partnership then reboot the PC. Then I would hard reset my device and then try to establish a partnership. It
is a matter of choice on what solutions you want to try but certasinly would consider this to at the very least eliminate this potential solution.

I believe you said this (http://msmvps.com/blogs/nickwienhol...8503001c-fixed-by-going-back-to-wmdc-6-0.aspx)
did not work and frankly, I can't see too much out there about this error but I will keep looking. maybe with a stroke of luck, some other viable solution will appear.

0x8503001C Any idea what this is exactly?

    Hi,

I have Vista64 Ultimate WMDC 6.1 (with all updates installed) and two wm devices with latest firmware:

    -iMate SP5m (wm5)

    -HTC P3300 (wm6)

When I did the initial installation of Vista64, and setup Outlook 2003 via Office 2003 SP3, I synchronised contacts & calendar to both the above devices just fine, and kept doing that till a few days ago. Since then, I get the weird 0x8503001c error and no
    sync anymore.

Btw, wdmc syncing still works fine with tomtom, ewalet, jeyo sms, mobile folders browsing, movie guide .. and both mobiles still access the internet (newsbreak, fizz traveller, quickgps etc update just fine)

Any useful idea as to what can either cause this or how to avoid it? I already tried almost every solution i found on the web (simply google 0x8503001c and you'll see tons of results) but no solution

I was thinking of cold-reseting the HTC to give it a shot, but I spent 3 days setting up all my apps from scratch on it after the last firmware update and I simply can't do this allover again ..

Some suggested reverting back to wmdc 6 but

    a. this is weird but everytime I do this, 6.1 gets autoinstalled, and if it doesn't wdmc doesn't work.

    b. even if I do uninstall wmdc completely, all previous settings/partnerships remain in the registry - how can they be cleared safely?

    c. why should I do this, when for about 2-3 weeks everything worked just fine?

Any help will be greatly appreciated !!

    Costas

EDIT: I just tried a sync in my laptop with Vista 32 Ultimate + Office 2003SP3 (never used wmdc before on it), and first thing I got was exactly the same error ..... This is getting weird now ..

Any software to monitor exactly what windows 10 is downloading?

Have you installed the Anniversary Update Yet? if not it could be that the files ready for the update are causing the issue your have seen. - Check for updates

there are programs designed for monitoring downloads but as these are generally aimed at companies and the like they are normally out of the reach of normal home users.

If you have a limit on your internet bandwidth or other reasons to control windows downloads the simplest way is to mark your internet connection as a metered one within Windows which will then always ask before downloading

Windows downloads not only updates for the OS, but regularly updates the universal apps and data for those apps.
Windows update history only shows the first; you get some indication of app updates from Store, click user icon, Downloads and Updates.

Besides that some installed desktop programs may be set to auto-update; some like AV programs may update data.

So background internet activity may come from a variety of sources, and expecting precise identification at a file level of what's being downloaded may be optimistic.

Netlimiter may be of interest, for example- I used it years ago, but it's current:
