It will say that if you are not signed into your MS Account. It says that for me too, but then I don't have one *Smile

I've signed into my MS account on the app though.

Is it because I'm not on an insider build as I did notice the word Insider when clicking the link

What exactly is your concern in this case? These messages are listed as "Informational events" and indicate successful updates. They are positive in nature. They are not indications of any problems. So, no wonder your system is running fine.

Every time I see a blue circle with an "i' in it in my Reliability History, I get similar messages.

The concern is that MS have broken the bit of their update process that puts a friendly name to each installed updates. We have absolutely no idea what the apparently random string of characters actually is. It could be malware for all we know.

Your comment is spot on. Any update having an unknown name is potential malware requiring investigation.

There are a couple of tools out there that allow you to remove (Hide) all apps if you do not use them. It would have been nice if Microsoft asked first, instead of loading up a bunch of apps that those of us that do business work, do not need them.

I did search for related feedback regarding the unknown updates and voted on this:

Since 8/15/17, some application updates in the Reliability Monitor show up only as "Application:XXX...-Submission:XXX..." with no name attached. This is new behavior and seems to be only Microsoft Store related apps, such as Sway, Skype, Buy Movies & TV. Googling the application codes is the only way to discover the names. Since the previous updates would list the application names, I'm sure this isn't desired behavior. I know I, for one, would like to know exactly what app was updated.

    Is that yours?

No - my feedback report is below:

App update are reported with a gobbledygook incorrect title in Reliability History
Some app updates are reported in Reliability History since mid August with an incorrect title. For instance the Store app was updated but this had the title 9wzdncrfjbmp instead of Store. See this thread on Tenforums Windows 10 Forums. This problem is probably due to poor QA and needs sorting out very soon.

  14. Same gobbledegook for money and sports apps that updated for me today. I noticed Netflix (when that one updates) does the same. Utter garbage from MS but unfortunately that seems to be the norm these days. They should stop pushing forward with relentless feature updates and focus on bug fixing. At the moment very few get fixed and they push out new stuff with new bugs which pile ontop of old bugs. i feel they push out too many feature updates for some kind of bragging rights (probably in relation to Apple) but who wants a complete os install every 6 months which is essentially what these feature updates are. It's a hassle. I'd much rather they fixed stuff like this

Does MS actually operate under a software quality standard such as ISO 9000 or similar? If so, it's time for some serious auditing to see if their accreditation should continue. Perhaps I'm being naive mentioning Microsoft and software quality in the same sentence *Roflmao2
