Windows 10: Anyone having issues with trimming videos with Movies and TV/Photos app?

Hello! I've always used the Movies and TV app to watch clips that I saved to my PC and then I trim them to shorten the length whenever I need to. The last couple of days whenever I trim a clip, the video gets a weird, bright filter over it which is annoying but I can deal with that. My issue is that after I trim a clip, anytime after that I want to open any other clip with the Movies and TV app my PC skips for a 5-10 seconds for the video to load and I'm not able to use my PC at all during that time. It completely freezes and I have to wait the app to process meanwhile the audio is playing in

i've been having issues while saving a trimmed video. So , i recorded a clip of my gameplay and i was trying to trim it in movies & tv but it shows 'unable to save' instead.

Please try the below steps to resolve the issue

1. Make sure that your Movies & TV app is up to date. Sometimes, outdated software can cause this issue. Check for the update in Microsoft store.

2. Sometimes, issues within the Movies & TV app itself can cause problems saving trimmed videos. Try repairing the app to resolve the issue:

a. Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.

b. Find Movies & TV in the list of apps.

c. Click on the app and select "Advanced options."

d. Click on "Repair" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Unable to save trimmed video in Microsoft Photos

I use Movies & TV to play my videos and use the trim feature on their to make them shorter and save them so I can get rid of unnecessary space. The Trim is done through Microsoft Photos and up until a week ago it worked perfectly fine. Now when I trim the video to my liking and hit save & copy and select the destination it just says 'Unable to Save'. I have tried to reset and repair the photos app and uninstalled/reinstalled Movies & TV app and nothing has worked.

 

Photos app - trim a video - error

Hello, I am trying to use the built-in Windows 10 Photos app to trim a video. I have the video playing in the Photos app and click "Trim Video" at the top. I move the sliders to select the start and end points. I click "Save a copy" at top-right. The app says "It looks as though you don't have permissions to save changes to this file. Try saving a copy instead." Having just clicked "Save a copy", I am confused as to why this error message is appearing. I've tried copying the .mp4 to my VIDEOS folder on C: drive with the same result. Some research has suggested to run the Photos app as Administrator, but I can't figure out how to do that. Any suggestions on how to trim a video would be appreciated! Thanks,
