    Anyone Notice Longer Boot and Shut Down times Since Creator's Update?


    If you used the POWERCFG command to set too small a size, or set the hiberfil.sys size to 'Reduced', then only fast start up is supported. You need a full sized hibefil.sys to support hibernation as well.

    Thanks for the explanation. I was under the impression that the "hibernate" box needed to be checked for fast startup to work.

    I'm working on it, Eagle. I've cleared the event viewer as suggested and waiting for next time I start up my PC after shutdown. I'm fairly new using event viewer, but I'll let you know what transpires. Thanks.
    Well startup is now significantly faster. Whatever I did, following instructions from you guys, seems to have worked. We'll see if it remains that way. Thanks a million to all involved! *Smile
