Windows 10: Anyway to remove all the Holographic stuff in Creators Update?

Confirm:
If you go to shell:appsfolder from a Run box, create shortcuts of desired apps and place them in a folder somewhere on C:,
then run 'Tilegone.cmd', you'll be okay to invoke the apps from those custom shortcuts.
(There won't be a taskbar thumbnail when they're running and minimizing closes them)

Wanna give someone unfamilair the rundown? All I have left are mixed reality portal, settings, and windows security center in my start menu. Settings can stay. Especially if it means keeping the button functional.

I want to remove Mixed Reality & Windows Security center though. How do i go about it? Do i need to remove the apps in their entirety first via powershell, or will this tilegone remove just the tiles from the start menu? Furthermore, what is the exact command I need to run to remove them?

(sorry, im more of a hardware guy lol)

 

You need to be signed on to your PC as Administrator.
All Tiles will be eliminated, including Settings, you will not be able to access Settings in the Start Menu either:





but you can access Settings via the WinX Menu, or via post #14 above.

The command is:

move /y %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\OLD_TileDataLayer

Copy and Paste into Notepad and save as xxxx.cmd file

so i got this figured out and working exactly how i had hoped.... ALMOST!

i createad shortcuts from the shell folder. ran tilegone etc.

start menu is now cleaned up. Problem is, i tried to add the shortcut for store/settings etc to a pre existing folder so I had access to them if i needed them. They still function but are now a blank/empty icon in the start menu?

if i navigate to the folder in explorer, the shortcut shows up with the proper icon, it is just empty/white/blank in the start menu itself. Any ideas?

Reset it from windows settings
Settings --> Apps --> Apps & Features -> #yourapp#(Store,Xbox,etc.) --> Advenced Options --> Reset
