Windows 10: AOL mail no longer plays You've Got Mail sound upon login

Hey, I have looked for answers to this problem but can't seem to find anything relevant to the issue I am having. I have recently noticed that upon logging into AOL mail, I can't hear the classic "You've Got Mail" notification sound anymore, even though I have the Play "You've Got Mail" alert option checkmarked in my mail settings, Neither the default "You've Got Mail" sound nor the Custom "You've Got Mail" sound will play upon logging into my account. Is there some setting in my browser I need to change? I am currently using Chrome 98 Official Build 64 Bit at this writing. Any suggestions

Mail notification sound doesn't play


Having a similar issue; I have Mail set up to show banners and play a sound. Confirmed in Notification settings. I set up my sound scheme to play AOL's old "You've got mail!" when I get a new mail. Set it as Desktop Mail Notification. Also have it set as New Mail Notification, but Windows 10 still insists on playing the Generic Notification sound set as Notification. I don't want to change that, as I know that if I do, every time I get a notification, "You've got mail!" Don't want that; it'll get old.

 

I need a slick E-mail program!

My parents are absolutely stonewall about keeping AOL. The best reason they can give me for keeping it is the easy to use E-mail interface. I ain't arguing, I haven't found anything easier to use, but it TAKES SO MUCH MEMORY! And so I'm thinking that if I can find something nice and easy to use, I might be able to get my parents to use it instead of AOL, and finally get the bloatware known as AOL off my computer! The requirements-

• Must be easy to use
• Can't be browser-based (so AIM mail, Yahoo, and MSN are no-no's)
• Preferably compatible with AOL mail, my parents don't want to switch E-mail accounts
• Can't be Mozilla Thunderbird...I tried it and it sucks in terms of multiple E-mail accounts, and it erased all my saved mail *Frown .

Any ideas?
