Windows 10: AOL Mail not syncing since upgrade

My AOL mail will not SYNC with "New Notifications" in Action Center since the automatic 1809 update on December 15, 2018. I've tried everything to solve problem and still will not download. I did noticed when in Manage My Acct there are 16 bubbles in password that I know is not correct. I changed my password in AOL mail back in December and I know the password is a lot longer than what windows is showing.

Thank you for posting to the forum regarding the issues you are having with your AOL account on your Windows Phone 7. At this point there has not been a lot of detail provided regarding the issue you are experiencing. With that said I am providing you
some basic troubleshooting steps and a couple links to other threads about issues that seem to be similar to what you are describing.

The first thing I would suggest you do is go to the phone and tap settings > time + date > turn off automatically set > set the time, date and time zone manually. Once this is done, go back to settings and tap on emails + accounts. Tap and hold the AOL
account and sync.

If you still cannot get the account to sync the next thing I would suggest you do is delete the account from your phone and try re-adding it to the phone. You can do this by going to settings > emails + accounts > tap and hold the account > select delete
> tap add account > select other account > enter the AOL account details.

Syncing AOL email acct

Just upgraded to Windows 10. Initially my AOL email acct synced and I could access via the Mail Tile. However, it is no longer working. I deleted the acct and started over, but it is not working. Any assistance or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hello tynaskos, I’m Virginia an independent advisor here.

I’ve seen that error on accounts which have two-factor/step authentication where the user requires an app specific password which is entered in place of the account password.

Does the AOL account use this security feature?

If not then check the usual ‘suspects’: username & password, whether the account uses SSL & whether the port numbers are set correctly.

SMTP Outgoing Server Address: smtp.aol.com. Set the port to 587

SMTP password. The password you use to log in to AOL Mail
