  2. App and Browser Control crashing in Windows 11

    Hi MuinAbrar,

Please check your SecHealthUI package version by running the following command in PowerShell.

    • get-appxpackage *sechealth*
    What's the version reported?

    Also, check the following link.

If reinstalling the package doesn't help, you may have to repair install Windows 11.

  3. Windows 11 security keep asking for approval for App & browser control

    Hi Dave,

No worries about the delayed response, and thank you for updating me on the steps you've taken. It sounds like you've been thorough in your troubleshooting efforts. Since the issue persists even after trying those steps, let's consider a few more options:

    1. Review Event Viewer Logs: It's understandable that the Event Viewer can be overwhelming. However, it can provide valuable insights into what's happening. When in Event Viewer, you can focus on a few key areas:
      1. Under Windows Logs, check the Application and System logs for any errors or warnings that occur around the time you start your PC or when the warning icon appears.
      2. Look for any events related to Windows Security, App & Browser control, or related services.
      3. If you find an event that seems related, you can double-click on it to get more details. Sometimes the description provides a specific error code or message that can be researched further.
    2. Reset Windows Security App: You can try resetting the Windows Security app to its default settings. This can sometimes resolve underlying issues.
      1. Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
      2. Find Windows Security, select it, and choose Advanced options (if available).
      3. Click on the Reset button. Note that this will clear the app's data, including any custom settings.
    3. Check for Corrupted System Files Again: Given that the issue persists, it's worth running the SFC and DISM commands again to ensure no system file corruption.
      1. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run sfc /scannow.
      2. After it completes, run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.
    4. Review App & Browser Control Settings: Although you've mentioned that Smart App Control is off and other settings are on, it might be worth revisiting these settings to ensure nothing was overlooked or has changed.

Go back to Settings > Privacy & Security > App & Browser Control and review each setting carefully, toggling them off and on again to ensure they're correctly set.
    5. System Restore: If you have a system restore point set up before this issue started, you could consider using System Restore to roll back your PC to a state before the issue began. This can sometimes resolve issues that seem otherwise unfixable.

Go to Control Panel > System and Security > System > System Protection > System Restore and follow the prompts to choose a restore point.
    6. Feedback Hub: If all else fails, consider using the Feedback Hub to report this issue directly to Microsoft. Include as much detail as possible about your system, the steps you've taken, and the issue itself.

Press Win + F to open the Feedback Hub and follow the prompts to report a problem.
Since this issue persists across different user accounts and even after a clean boot, it suggests a deeper system-level issue.

    Best Regards
