App starts automatically even though configured not to in Startup Apps in Settings

In Windows 10 v2004, how do I keep apps in Startup Apps under Settings from re-enabling when I reboot?

I disable Origin in Startup Apps but when I restart or shut down and restart it automatically re-enables.

  2. Windows 10 Version 1803 Startup Apps configuration settings

With the 1803 feature update, 'Startup Apps' configuration controls

    are now available at Settings/Apps/Startup.

One of the apps listed is a desktop app (not an Appx package)

that is configured for all users. The startup link for the app is

    stored in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp

If the app is configured to NOT start on log in (Off), the Settings window is

closed and Settings/Apps/Startup is reopened, the configuration for the

    app is back to On.

I could not find this scenario listed as an issue with the 1803 update

and although it is minor it was a bit confusing.

    Vista Automatic Updating Error

    Resolution Suggestion:

    # To resolve this problem, make sure that BITS and the Automatic Updates service are started..

A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

    1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

    2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

    3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

    4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

    5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

    6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

    7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.
